Christmas is coming…

…and it seems to be coming quicker than ever this year!! So what are our favourite things that we hope Santa will be leaving by the fireplace for us? Well, Nigel Slater’s new recipe book ‘Tender’ is definitely worth a read, full of lovely, healthy recipes and with useful gardening tips that even inspire us to start a vegetable patch in 2010! 

When the weather is cold, wet and damp (as is so usual for the UK) then we’ll be hoping to snuggle up with a Shruti Chunky Knit Throw, perfect for throwing over the sofa or armchair when the nights get chilly.  Shown here is the Heather colour, but also available in lovely shades of blue, green, brown and pink. Shruti on the beach…

Check out our new Shruti Storage Cubes – perfect for summer days on the beach! The cubes fold flat for easy storage, have a small zipped pocket inside for small things and have reinforced sides to keep them durable. I was on holiday with the family in Devon recently and found them perfect for throwing all the beach kit in – towels, suncream, a good book, as well as the all important buckets and spades! I just need to get matching towels now..

West Dean Chilli Festival

A few weekends ago, Michaela and Graham spent the day selling Shruti at the West Dean Chilli Festival! The weather was nearly as hot as the chillies on sale, and our chilli products proved very popular, there were even a few customers from last year wandering round with their Shruti chilli shopping bags! An interesting day out where you can sample lots of chilli products and buy the plants to take home with you.

New Storage Cubes for Shruti…

Take a look at these! Our new storage cubes are proving to be very popular, and available in a wide range of designs suitable for knitting, sewing, toys, on the beach, picnic..or even storing toilet rolls in the bathroom.

 They have a removable base so they can be stored flat, and reinforced sides for durability. Great for throwing things in to keep the house tidy…and they look great too…available to buy from our website, we are adding the new designs very soon. Buy whilst stocks last…they are selling very quickly.

Royal Bath and West Show

Well what a difference from Tatton Park – the Royal Bath and West Show held near Bath. Our stand was next to last years ‘Dragons Den’ finalist and between the candy floss and cider tents! And lots of lovely, sunny  weather!

Tatton Park Design Weekend

…our very glamorous stand at Tatton Park Design Weekend held in Cheshire recently…lots of WAGS and V Beckham lookalikes, plenty of big hair, massive sunglasses and champers were orders of the day!

BBC Gardener’s World Live

Shruti is off to the NEC to sell our wares at the BBC Gardener’s World Live show. Last year’s was great for celebrity spotting so more of the same would be fun – as well as selling lots of Shruti stuff of course!

Spirit Of Summer Fair – Olympia

Last week Shruti had a stand at the Home & Gardens event – Spirit of Summer at Olympia, London. The show was busy from start to finish, with lots of lovely ladies (and the occasional man!) shopping like crazy for gorgeous homewares, gifts, clothes and lovely treats. Our stand was buzzing with people, and our best sellers were throws and sewing boxes, with some really good comments about the range and our products.

Ladies were draping themselves with our cable knit angora throws, perfect for their summer barbecues or out on the boat with hubby!

Up and coming shows include the Bath & West Show (26th-30th May) and BBC Gardeners World show at the NEC (8th-14th June) where you may even get to spot Alan or Monty! so come along and join in the summer fun – we’ll have lots of special offers that aren’t available anywhere else!

Country Living pics…

Here are just a few pics from the Country Living Show last week! The place was really buzzing with lots of customers – the star of the Shruti show was our Steel Grey Cable Knit Throw (T2C) as modeled above – seems the interiors trend for grey is still very big! The delightful Fern Britton even stopped by at the stand which was a lovely surprise..not telling you what she bough tho’.

Country Living Fair

The Country Living Spring Fair starts on Wednesday, so we are setting up the stand and preparing for what will hopefully be a busy show. It’s always a great day out with some really inspiring suppliers and stalls to shop from. Just don’t forget your cheque books as you always want to spend more than you thought!
